On the new earth will our children be perfect?

Hi Gabby, Kinsey, Elle and Ana...

You guys are deep thinkers. Great question.

The new earth will occur after a series of events have already taken place. The Church will have been raptured, the Tribulation will be over and the battle of Armageddon will have been won. These things will happen and precede the new earth. With this chronology in mind, we know that a Christian (Christ follower) will be with Christ on the new earth.

So...you asked if "our kids" will be perfect on the new earth. There doesn't seem to be any evidence that believers that are alive now will be having children on the new earth. We will be in changed, glorified bodies.

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. I Corinthians 15:52

But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. 2 Peter 3:13

However, Wayne Grudem makes some good observations about what we will be doing on the new earth which includes a variety of physical activity.

"In the new heavens and new earth, there will be a place and activities for our resurrection bodies, which will never grow old or become weak or ill. Therefore we can expect that in the new heavens and new earth there will be a fully perfect earth that is once again "very good." And we can expect that we will have physical bodies that will once again be "very good" in God’s sight, and that will function to fulfill the purposes for which he originally placed man on the earth. "

"While we may have some uncertainty about the understanding of certain details, it does not seem inconsistent with this picture to say that we will eat and drink in the new heavens and new earth, and carry on other physical activities as well. Music certainly is prominent in the descriptions of heaven in Revelation, and we might imagine that both musical and artistic activities would be done to the glory of God" Wayne Grudem, Systematic Theology

What does all of this mean? The Bible is silent on whether or not we will be having children during this time. There are probably some guesses that go both ways, but truthfully, we don't know. What we do know is that we'll be awestruck by God and his Holiness. We'll be in the presence of Jesus. We'll be in different, glorified bodies with no pain or sorrow.

Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. Psalm 145:3
