Great Question!
I will give you my opinion. God has perfect timing in all areas of our lives- including salvation. Somehow in the midst of our everyday lives God uses us to be salt and light to those who need Him. Remember we do not save anyone because that's the work of the Holy Spirit, but we are to share the Good News of Christ with everyone we have a relationship with. We have a tendency to be harder on those we love most for whatever reason. We have to be careful that we don't attempt to be the designated Holy Spirit even though our desire is to "win" that person to Christ. With that in mind, I would recommend the following:
1. Pray for the individual daily. That they would be open to God's calling.
2. Spend time with them. Show the love of Christ every opportunity you have with that person. This does not mean to compromise what is right, it just means to love through Christ's righteousness.
3. Be patient, God is!
2 Peter 3:9 says, "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
4. Be a friend...always. "The Son of man ... a friend of publicans and sinners."
Matt. 11:19
I believe we can all relate to this heartfelt question because we all want those we know and love to experience God and His abundant life.
